What is anti-wrinkle treatment?

Botulinum Toxin Type A is a muscle relaxant that reduces muscle contraction in the area treated by acting on the junctions between nerves and the muscles. By relaxing the corresponding muscles, the overlying wrinkles will soften and reduce, creating a smoother, fresher and more youthful appearance.
Effects of anti-wrinkle injections with Botulinum Toxin Type A usually occur to be visible within 2-3 days but it might take up to one month for a maximum result to peak. The effects can then last up to 5 months but an average of satisfying observed outcome is closer to 3-4 months. To avoid such unwanted complications, we are performing a thorough assessment prior to injection to identify suitable application sites and to define the required volume of injectable needed.
When should you avoid anti-wrinkle treatment?
You must not receive botulinum toxin injections if you are suffering from illnesses of neuro-muscular basis like Myasthenia Gravis or other significant neurological disorders. Anti-wrinkle injections are not recommended in pregnant or breast-feeding patients and for clients with signs of infection to the proposed injection site. It is important to inform your practitioner about any medication you are taking, prescription medicine as well as over-the-counter, as certain medications can interfere with product used. Please let us know in case you are on any blood thinning medications like Aspirin, Pradaxa, Xarelto, Warfarin or Fish oil as this might pose a prolonged bleeding and higher bruising risk.
